Step 1: Kidspiration
You will be using a program called Kidspiration to organize your ideas and take those ideas to a word processing program.
Now I would like you to go to Kidspiration and get started.
Next after you create the word web in Kidspiration you can take your ideas to Microsoft Word, type the poem up and "fancy up" the text. Watch the following to learn more. There is a blank document set up for you to start typing into. Remember to save as before you quit so you can have it available for the next step. How to take Kidspiration to Word
Go to the Writing view in Kidspiration.
Go to File
Choose Export
Click on Microsoft Word and Save
Choose Mrs. Gamel Poetry
For File name use your name then click Save
Now open this and get started, don't forget to save as to make it your own. PUT YOUR NAME AS THE FILE NAME Here is a sample of what I did:
(Remember your log in information is user name: First Name. Last Name and the password is (you'll have to look up on the board!) :)
In the Voicethread look for Gamel Poetry load your poem here. You can see and hear the My Mitten poem as an example.
Step 4: Voicethread
After it is loaded into VoiceThread, you will perform your poem. You will record your voice reading your poem.
(Don't forget to change to your identity and press stop when you are done...remember listening to people who FORGOT to press stop!)
At the end of the Voicethread there will be a button that says EMBED.
Press that button and choose the the code to copy.
Step 5: Load your Voicethread into our BLOG
1. Go to our BLOG and login under your identity. It is on the menu bar on the right hand side of this page.
2. Press the tab on top that says: Create.
3. Make sure the tab says HTML and then paste the code from VoiceThread into the body of the document. (CTL- V)
4. Logout.
5. You will need to wait for approval in order to be able to see the VoiceThread on your BLOG page.
6.Other students will then have an opportunity to make comments.
